Midtown NYC Office Shooting Claims Four Lives, Including NYPD Detective

On July 28, 2025, a mass shooting occurred at 345 Park Avenue, a Midtown Manhattan corporate skyscraper housing offices of the NFL, Blackstone, KPMG, and Rudin Management. 🧠 Motive & Shooter’s Background

The gunman, Tamura, appears to have been targeting the NFL offices, blaming them for his alleged brain injury—chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). His handwritten note referenced former NFL player Terry Long and demanded his brain be studied. He appeared to err in location—taking the wrong elevator and landing in Ruden Management rather than the NFL floor The Daily Beast+9People.com+9Business Insider+9.

Authorities confirmed Tamura had a documented history of mental health concerns. Surveillance footage captured him exiting a double-parked black BMW on Park Avenue and immediately opening fire in the lobby. His attack unfolded rapidly and without warning, leaving witnesses and responders alike stunned New York Post+6The Daily Beast+6Business Insider+6.
