Four Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting of 'General Hospital' Actor Johnny Wactor During Catalytic Converter Theft in Downtown LA

On August 15, four men were arrested in connection with the tragic death of 37-year-old "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor. The suspects arrested for murder include Robert Barceleau of Huntington Park, along with Leonel Gutierrez and Sergio Estrada, both from Los Angeles County. Frank Olano of Inglewood was also taken into custody on an arrest warrant for accessory to the crime.

The fatal incident occurred on May 25 in downtown Los Angeles, when Wactor and his co-worker, Anita Joy, interrupted thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. Police report that Central Area officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon and shooting in the 1200 block of Hope Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Wactor suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite officers rendering aid and emergency medical services being dispatched, Wactor was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Witness statements revealed that Wactor, who had just finished his shift as a bartender at a nearby bar, was confronted by three individuals attempting to steal his vehicle's catalytic converter. Without provocation, one of the suspects shot Wactor, leading to the fatal outcome.
