Restaurant Introduces 'Indian Prime Minister Thali' in New Jersey Prior to PM's US Visit

A restaurant in New Jersey has introduced a special thali dedicated to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit to the United States, according to a report by ANI. The owner of the restaurant, Shripad Kulkarni, who is of Indian origin, stated that the thali was curated in response to the demands of the local Indian community.

The "Modi Ji" thali is a vibrant and colorful platter featuring a variety of mouth-watering dishes from different regions of India. Some of the items included in the thali are Khichdi, rasgulla, sarson ka saag, Kashmiri dum aloo, idli, dhokla, chaach, and papad. Additionally, the thali pays tribute to the United Nations' declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets by incorporating millet-based dishes.

The thali has already garnered positive reviews from numerous customers who have tried it. In a video shared by ANI, customers expressed their love for the food and praised the extensive selection offered in the thali. The price of the thali was not mentioned in the video.

Furthermore, the restaurant owner revealed plans to launch another special thali dedicated to India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, in the near future. The owner believes that such a thali will also be well-received among the Indian American community due to the minister's popularity.

It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of a culinary offering being created in honor of Prime Minister Modi. Last year, a Delhi-based restaurant called Ardor 2.1 launched a special 'thali' on the occasion of the prime minister's birthday. The thali featured a wide array of 56 items, allowing customers to choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
